The meeting at Huddersfield yesterday was the next step in the process. It was stated at the meeting last week that a further open meeting would be held in a couple of weeks or so.

Thanks for the update, Pal.

What was the meeting in Huddlesfield about/any news?

Any date for the open meeting?

It was a conference held by Supporters Direct discussing the involvement of Supporters Trusts in RL. I was due to attend for other reasons outside of the Haven supporters trust but had to pull out at the last minute. I'm glad we were represented there though by Karl. I see he also won the raffle on the day which was a signed shirt by Tom Van Volenhoven, who was also in attendance.

Myself and Karl attended the meeting yesterday it was a very long day but well worth it. Karl will provide a full update tomorrow which will be posted on http://www.trustinhaven.co.uk/ It was certainly worth the long day and a great opportunity to speak with other clubs who have been established for some time and they shared some of there highs and lows. We have also obtain some good contacts who have offered to help when ever we need it. More to follow tomorrow

Don't want to sound negative but what good will this do us. Its ok having forums and nice get togethers but what we need is positive action.

As for Karl Conner I'm sure he has the clubs best interests at heart but he took ages to print the 1st minutes of that useless meeting and as for the 2nd lot was it ever presented ??? ???

Sorry but I'm not getting excited over all this. The only thing that will do the club any good is to field a winning side and get those fickle fans back through the gates

I think that's a bit unnecessary. This was a Supporters Direct driven conference, not just a meeting for us, and it will no doubt have been beneficial for the Whitehaven Supporters Trust. It was good that people were able to give up their Saturday to attend this event with the overall aim to work towards giving the fans an input into how things are run.

I also think it's a little short sighted to knock Karl for the effort he is putting in on this. I don't see many others taking such an active role in moving this idea forward. Unfortunately this Supporters Trust will not work unless people stand up and participate and not just spectate. Kudos to Karl for grabbing the bull by the horns so to speak.

Typical miserable, backward looking post. Who else is getting up off their arse to do things? This guy has gone to huddersfield and back on a saturday in his own time. He stll gets a kicking. Get a grip. Internet warriors who sit on their sofa and carp make me a little nauseous..

From what i gathered at the meeting, thats in the long term plans, but again there is no certainty that they will be offered any equity or even if they were, it would need to go through a vote taken by all members of the Whitehaven RLFC supporters trust.

1st step is getting the trust setup and then people can start joining.

"boldyno1" I would have thought if a Trust was formed and supported the Club by in putting cash etc, they would be rewarded with shares, the goal of the Trust surely is to eventually to own the Club on the supporters behalf, otherwise whats the point?
The constitution of the trust covers much more than tryng to acquire equity in the club.
Whitehavenrlforever--come to the next meeting to find out what Karl and others have been doing for the trust/club.

It strikes me we are all getting a bit ahead of ourselves hear. first of all it was voted unanimously that the trust steering committee would explore a means of creating a  supporters trust and by my understanding that's all we have to date. Karl and a colleague making the effort to go and do a bit of research is commendable and is a step in the right direction so get behind them instead of continually criticising the efforts of individuals who have the best interests of the club at heart, whilst doing Jackxxxx but criticise.

Unless I have got it wrong Davey we have to first of all create and register the trust.

Then we would have to elect a committee.

And only then do we agree democratically on a constitution.

Correct me if I'm wrong

your probably right Flannerz. Maybe it was wrong of me to have a go at karl conner and I apologise. It was more born out of fustration than anything else. It's just nothing seems straight forward down there anymore. It seems one big fight all the time. Infact I'm not even sure wether I'll be down next season. Probably will nearer the time.
