If Copeland council are serious about building a stadium they should  be looking at finding alternative access to the ground, here are four suggestions
1 build a road along the old railway track,
2 extend Pottery Row with a car park in the field and build footbridges over pow beck,
3 widen Low road with an off ramp down to the ground, this would also allow better traffic flow to and from meadow road.
All this would cost a lot of money but at least it would get rid of the miners demands.
Or 4 as has been suggested on this site build the stadium somewhere else ( off meadow road near the cemetery ) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Dear nR, trouble with your four options is they all would cost a great deal more than what we have been told the miners are asking for.

Dear wash, I have been saying all this for nearly three years now, Knowles, Geil and the council's executive got rid of the old board by sleight of hand installed Mr.grace in was it January 2008 and the club has been on a steady decline ever since [sadly a lot will not face up to the fact that we are on a continuing slide] Still no one at the council or wherever the power really lies will say we can invest half of what we are planning to spend on the recre have a super league stadium and one fit for any community event you want to throw at it. Why will no one call a halt to this monstorous waste of money that is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE?

Wash and cran.cran are in extreme states of denial.

I told you cran.cran, last month, that the greedy bastards at the Miners - not nationally - would not sign, would make excessive demands and scupper the whole job. You poured scorn on that but I was right.

Ask Brian Birkett who made the demand for 1/4 million. It was the locals not SISWO.

They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Not just no World Cup, no stadium but local jobs have been knackered. Whole Pow Beck Valley regeneration in jeopardy now and all for a few locals who can see no further than the end of their greedy noses.

dear B/B, sorry meant to also say the whole Pow Beck regeneration scheme was lost long ago when ASDA pulled out again by prevarication on the part of the Council

agree with your first point, there is plenty of land on that side, going to waste.
