Cumbria Storm, the new scholarship project for top prospects, make their Recre debut on Saturday  26th May ,at Under-15 and 16 level. The 15s kick-off against Salford at 11.30am and the 16s at 1pm.

The under 15's won 22 18 but the under 16's lost 32 26 two great games the future of cumbrian rugby looks in good shape

thats because we have two local teams doing nothing to keep them in the county they are better off trying there luck with a super league club lets face it we will never get one her because unless we merged ther wouldnt be the funding or the facilities to get it off the ground

You couldnt be more wrong Mac 1.
Haven had until 2010 a strong and competitive Scholarship set-up . At the end of 2010 the RFL set down  minimum standards that would have to be followed before clubs could participate in Scholarships and Under 18 Academy , the financial implications were such that it would be almost impossible for clubs outside of SL  to meet . Thus Haven and most other Championship , with the exception of Featherstone , no longer run scholarships .

I would suggest that the Formation of  Cumbria Storm, which is a RFL backed and funded initiative  , is maybe just the RFL admitting that they maybe made the wrong decision in 2010 ?

Officially the worst Pro side in Cumbria are Whitehaven :(
