Des,

is there anything you or the board can do about the youngsters at the opening to the car park charging for parking on sunday match days?

they are currently trying to fleece supporters out of ?2 to park a car and ?5 to park a coach, they even try to charge the opposition team coach!!!!

i presume the money is either going to the miners club, which i strongly object to or the kids are pocketing it themselves!!

Mac,

The road up to the ground belongs to the Miners and it is they who charge for parking. We have no control over that or what they charge.

Correct me if i am wrong but if you charge for car parking, by law you must show the prices ?

I hope that the miners club aren't doing anything illegal now !!

I think you will find that the road up to the ground, doesn't belong to the miners, Des, it is part of the charity land that the Miners Trustees hold in trust for the charity, same as the ground itself!!!!

i got charged ?1 to park not ?2 and the prices are shown on a little board i noticed on sunday

Why is there never an adult with them if they are doing it for the miners. I agree with you Monte about them showing the prices, I reckon everyone should refuse to pay what can they do!!! ::)

I forgot to add that they wanted to charge me the other week and I was just dropping the family off to go and watch the match and then I was going straight to work. I have also heard that from a few others who are just getting dropped off.

Maybe its time the miners started to monitor how many cars are on the car park instead of leaving it to our stewards.  If they want the cash do the job right.

Well why park there, why line there pockets, there is a huge car park next to the old Punch Bowll pub, and theres loads of parking on Esk Avenue, & surrounding area. But eh guess some folk to lazy to walk that far?  ;)

Yep,

Why should we line the melderer's sorry miners club pockets. I mean they are  really helpful at present with our ground redevelopment.

There club house only ever seem to open on a match day.

Charge for a  car park as they like without a clear pricing structure
