Whitehaven RLFC have NEW OWNERS

Breaking news on BBRC twitter site that the club has been sold to a consortium led by Dick Raaz!

BBCRC Sport EXCLUSIVE: The sale of Whitehaven RLFC has been completed within the last few minutes to the consortium headed by Dick Raaz.

Hear exclusively from the chairman of Whitehaven Rugby League Club 2010 on our BBCRC Sport show tonight from 6.00pm.

A general summary of the interview included the following...

1.   A new larger board should be sorted with the "next 2 days".   
     (not an exceptionally large board but certainly larger than of late)
     several prominent and experienced people have been approached and
     discussions are ongoing to recruit these people.

2.   Coaching staff and playing staff can now be recruited - preliminary
      discussions have taken place (no names given) due to the uncertainty
      no contracts have been signed but Mr Raaz has stated we will be kept
      informed on new signings and staff appointments.

So all in all it is a case of watch this space.....

Brilliant news id like to say a BIG thankyou to Mr + Mrs Razz and the other board members who helped keep our beloved Haven alive , now lets get everyone pulling in the same direction .

Well Thank God for That!!!!!!!

So we now have a new club which is debt free, with a chairman who is clearly passionate about the club and team, and hopefully a new BOD, coach and players to come in the next few weeks. Let us all now work together to build our new club and get us back into the Championship.

On another point a MASSIVE thank you to Mr and Mrs Raaz for spending so much time, effort and money to save our beloved Haven. I think that they will be the first to admit that they don't know everything and that they have made mistakes, but lets put all of that behind us now (it is history, most of it painful, but still history) and move forward into a new bright future.

The Raaz's (and the other new co-owners) deserve our heart felt thanks.
Without their, and the chairman's commitment our club would have struggled to reform, and I believe we now have a sound future with owners who will do their very best for the club and its supporters.

Special thanks also to Mrs Raaz, I know she is very much deflated now, but so many of us hope that now the worst is behind us, she will take up the role she intended and stay even more closely involved with haven supporters groups, the place where her heart so obviously belongs.

Well done to all who were involved in our re-formation, and also to those supporters who had faith in those same people while they were fighting for our club on our behalf.

Am I happy ..... NO ...........I am overjoyed.

Personally i'd like to say thankyou to Mr (&Mrs) Raaz for sorting this situation out. Be great to see what happens in the future, just leave the past in the past and step on for the future.

Great news. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Raaz. They have shown their commitment and passsion for the club in its darkest hour. Lets move on, move forward and build for the future. Good luck to the new BoD, good luck to the club in 2011.

Thanks to all involved in ensuring we have an TO team to watch  in this town next season. Here's to a new start. I wonder how many of last years squad will accept their contract offers?

Great news for the weekend.  At last some aknowledgement to the commitment of Mr & Mrs Razz to the town and RL Club.  Really appreciated because i dead to think what would have happened otherwise.

Still a hell of a lot of work to be done and they and the BOd will need a lot of paitence and suppport from us all ...the path may not be smooth .  just hope the players show the same comitment to the club and do there bit to get the club back up into the championship  ...going to be interesting to see which players are up for the fight and who bales out.

Debt free? surely they are paying a % to previous creditors?
